Date & Time: Saturday May 5th 1:30-4:00
Location: Boeing Activity Center in Everett

Description: The Society of Women Engineers will be hosting a Free workshop for local Girl Scouts sponsored by a grant from the Society of Professional Engineers in Aerospace. The K-5th grade (Daisy, Brownie, and Junior) Girl Scouts will be earning an Explore Engineering patch by working in teams of 3-5 to understand the engineering design process building newspaper towers and lego structures according to the specifications laid out by another team. Both exercises will focus on the importance of teamwork, planning, and clear communication. The teams will experience both the role of a customer and supplier when designing their Lego structures. We will provide a mid activity healthy snack. The girls will have the opportunity to meet female role model engineers and learn that girls can be good at Science, Engineering and Math. Preregistration is required. Enough adults to meet safety ratios should also be present.

To register please email Holly Bork holly.bork@yahoo.com<mailto:holly.bork@yahoo.com> with your troop number, number of girls attending, and age levels or if you have any questions.  We will break the girls up by age level and tailor the workshop accordingly.
